New York, NY October 30, 2007 Fueled by its 13 Days of Halloween programming and strong performances from the new season of Ghost Hunters, SCI FI Channel was the 4th ranked basic cable network among Adults 25 54 (606,000) for the month of October. SCI FI also enjoyed its best October ever in Adults 18-34 (255,000), Men 1834 (139,000), Women 18-34 (116,000) and Women 18-49 (250,000).
Additionally, SCI FI ranked in the top ten among Adults 18-49, Women 18-49, and in all key male demographics: 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54. Compared to last October, SCI FI had growth among key demos including Adults 18-34 (+11%), Men 18-34 (+5%), Women 18-34 (+20%) and Women 18-49 (+1%).
The fall season of Ghost Hunters has exceeded the fall 2006 season by 15% in Household ratings, and is up 41% among Adults 18-34,18% among Adults 18-49, 14% among Adults 25-54 and 21% among total viewers.
Last week (10/24/07) SCI FI had its best Wednesday prime ever with regularly scheduled programming with 1.1 million Adults 18-49 and 1.07 million Adults 25-54. A new episode of Ghost Hunters delivered a 1.47 household rating and 1,962,000 total viewers as well as a fall 2007 season high of 1,334,000 Adults 18-49 and the season's second best Adult 25-54 (1,265,000). The telecast also marked the third-highest Adult 18-49 delivery in the history of the series, behind only the season finales in fall 2005 and summer 2007.
SCI FI's 13 Days of Halloween programming stunt is outperforming both ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween and AMC's Monsterfest. Among total viewers SCI FI is ahead by 28% vs. ABCF and AMC: among Adults 18-49, SCI FI has an 18% edge over AMC and a 42% edge over ABCF; and for Adults 25-54 SCI FI is beating ABCF by 59% and AMC by 32%. SCI FI also has a 26% edge over ABCF among Adults 18-34.
SCI FI's record-setting October follows on the heels of a remarkable ratings year for the Channel, including best second and third quarters ever among younger viewers, and best April, May and June ratings among key demographics.

Earthquake Update

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct 30 (Reuters) - A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck in a rural area about 9 miles (15 km) northeast of San Jose, California, Silicon Valley's biggest city, on Tuesday night, the U.S. Geological Survey said.The temblor on the Calaveras Fault lasted about 30 seconds. The U.S. Geological Survey preliminary magnitude estimate was 5.6, making it the most powerful quake to hit the Bay Area since Loma Prieta, Oct. 17, 1989. That was a magnitude 6.9.
The epicenter was five miles miles from Alum Rock, seven miles from Milpitas and nine miles from San Jose City Hall with the earthquake originating 5.7 miles below ground.
Shaking was felt throughout the Bay Area. Eleven aftershocks with magnitudes of 1.3 to 2.1 were reported by 8:45 p.m.
There were no immediate reports of major

damage, though cellular and landline telephone service failed for a time in some areas.The latest updates:

Nip/Tuck

NIP/TUCK premieres tonight on FX at 10pm, don’t forget to get your DVRs ready. I decided to take a look at the premiere and find out what I’ve been missing the last few seasons. O my god i am really so exited about this serial.


Ever since it began, I've run hot and cold on FX's "Nip/Tuck" (10 p.m. tonight). The sexual escapades of plastic surgeons Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and especially Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) are often ridiculously over the top, but the series sometimes makes up for its excesses by tackling social issues or executing a shocking brilliant plot twist - I'm thinking of Ava (Famke Janssen), the "she" who turned out to be a "he" in season two.

By season four, "Nip/Tuck" seemed to run out of steam and story, and then it ended with a surprise: The docs pulled up stakes from Miami and moved to Hollywood, the mecca of plastic surgery. It seemed like a last-ditch effort to breathe new life into an aging show. Having watched the first two episodes, I'm pleasantly surprised to say: It worked.

"Nip/Tuck" is thriving in its new locale, even if the McNamara/Troy practice is not. The two best buds are living together, but they have few patients to suture. That begins to change when they meet a publicist (Lauren Hutton) who starts pushing clients their way, including an actress (Daphne Zuniga), whom Hollywood suits have deemed too old for the lead in big-screen romantic comedies, including one she's desperate for that would have her play a "single-mother coal miner with an autistic child."











Murphy said that notion of temptation and retaining one's identity will be the thematic thrust of the show's fifth season.

"Nip/Tuck" supporting characters - including Liz (Roma Maffia), Matt (John Hensley), Kimber (Kelly Carlson) and Julia (Joely Richardson) - will also make the move to the West Coast. Julia, in particular, will have some surprising news for Sean and Christian. For Richardson, the chance to act in a different environment - all-new sets were built for the new season - was welcome. "Certainly with Dylan and me, we were done with that kitchen," she said, referring to the set of the home Sean and Julia shared in Miami. "There was nothing left that we could do in that kitchen."
